At age 40, the artist began to work in self portraiture, using a $100 point & shoot digital camera set on a 10-second timer. One may understand her years of self-portraiture as preparation for her video work. Four years of work, made secretly, undertaken breathlessly, compulsively, in vacant houses, boats, public bathrooms and various art studios, in +7 hour sessions, distributed once on telephone poles, ripped down the next day. 3,000 images, sacred and profane, all asking, "What am I without a world to sense? Without a spirit to understand? What else can I be? How else in relation?"
