VIDEO
In December 2017, at age 50, as a form of self-retrieval, after paying off her student loan debt, A K Mimi Allin began making performance art videos prolifically, using an ipad propped in a bamboo lap desk. The videos exist at the intersection of performance art, experimental film, early-era silent cinema & dance. A strong feminist discourse runs through them. The work continues to draw her out onto the landscape & into relationship with objects. She produces tens of videos per day, the collection is currently at +3,000. On that funny, rare ground few know exist, she draws & redraws the boundaries between known & unknown. Follow this work on Instagram.
